IIn May of 2007, I made the very personal choice and life-changing decision to have bariatric surgery. I was tired of being the "chubby one". I didn't have the energy to keep up with my grandchildren. My self-esteem and confidence level was rock-bottom. Having known and worked with Dr. Joya for many years, I knew I was in the best of hands with both him and his expert team. Together, we decided that the Gastric Sleeve would be the best choice for me. I also knew that this would be a tool and not a cure.

Now, two years later, I am thrilled to say that I have reached my goal weight after having lost nearly 118 pounds - gone forever as far as I am concerned! I have non-stop energy, I feel fabulous and my new life no longer revolves around food. Most of the time it revolves around clothes!
